A Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Ashlea has extensive training and experience cultivated through work and education in a variety of settings, ranging from schools, to hospitals, group homes, and private practice. Ashlea completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Maryland, College Park Campus.
She went on to earn her Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in clinical mental health from the University of Maryland at Baltimore.
While attaining that degree, Ashlea completed her clinical practicum at Johns Hopkins Adolescent Clinic and worked part-time at the Kennedy Krieger Institute’s Therapy Center. She completed her post-graduate clinical supervision at the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, Maryland. Early in her career, Ashlea provided career counseling services to adolescents and young adults being released from the correctional system, worked with children, adolescents, and adults dealing with chronic illness, Autism Spectrum Disorders and various developmental disabilities, and supported patients suffering from depression and anxiety.
In October of 2004, Ashlea moved to the South Lake County area and has continued to seek out diverse professional opportunities to grow her clinical skills. She worked with both adults and children in hospitals, schools, and private practice before deciding to open Summit Mental Health Services, PLLC. Ashlea has been credentialed by the State of Florida to provide clinical supervision to post-graduate level therapists. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers. Ashlea is a certified facilitator for Sibshops and offers the program in Lake and Orange Counties.

She graduated from University of Central Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and then went on for a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling at Western Washington University. To fulfill a desire to work with families and couples dealing with divorce, she studied to become a Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator and a Certified Parenting Coordinator to assist parents in learning how to co-parent in the aftermath of divorce.
When Dana is not working or involved with her children’s’ sports and music activities, she enjoys biking, jogging, swimming and scuba diving with her husband and sons.

Since that time she has worked in Georgia, Colorado and then in Florida, where she has always focused on the needs of the pediatric population. Leslie has many years of professional clinical experience in residential programs, schools, homes, and outpatient clinics as both a therapist and supervisor.
She most recently spent over a decade providing therapy to children and adolescents in South Lake County while working closely with their families in community mental health. She comes to Summit Mental Health Services in a new phase of life, while she is currently working on a Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis which she hopes to complete within the next year.
Leslie is a family focused person, spending her down time with her family and beloved dogs.

Since then Michele has worked as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a variety of clinical experiences, most recently working with adjustment to life changing illnesses or events such as cancer, body changes due injury or identity or divorce.
Michele also specializes in many types of loss events such as death of a loved one, career interruption, or major relocation. She gained this experience working in major trauma hospitals, cancer centers and hospice settings. Michele has counseled both youth and parents adjusting to identity issues with the LGBTQ community. Michele is also employed with The US Department of Health and Human Services as a mental health specialist with the National Disaster Medical System, working on Disaster Medical Assistance Teams as a first responder to victims of national disasters.
Michele was on the Board of the Florida Society of Oncology Social Workers for over 10 years helping to advance the profession of social work and programs for their clients. She has been instrumental in program development and has been affiliated with the Florida Cancer Control and Research Advisory Counsel, established by the Florida Legislature. She enjoys facilitating support groups, community health events and providing education about mental health issues and the profession.
On Michele’s free time she enjoys a variety of DIY projects, anything from plumbing, changing a light fixture to refinishing furniture. Gardening has become a new favorite activity as well.
